The idea for The Kettle Club came to me a few months ago, as I was finishing up my devotional time. As I was closing my Bible I thought of all the women, myself included, who often voice the worry of blogging having the potential to upstage other activities in life.
I’ve read time and time again how so many women feel obligated to blog and start to lose the joy of sharing their hearts when the pressure mounts.
Most of all, I’ve read and have personally felt, the longing for our time with the Lord to remain intact and take priority over our time spent in the blog world.
Thus The Kettle Club was born.
Here is how it works:
• Women who want to make the commitment to spend 5-10 minutes (or more!) of time in the Word before blogging each day, will join up.
• Each month, we will post little devotional questions and encouragement to help hold one another accountable.
• The last week of the month we will link up and share what we are learning in our private, devotion time.
You are welcome to share anything & everything! This is NOT a meme where we are all going to be doing the same thing. I may be spending my time reading the Psalms for the month; you may be reading about the miracles of Christ.
Whatever we are studying each day doesn’t matter, what matters is that we will be encouraging one another to get into the Word and get active with it!
Everyone is welcome. If you miss a month, don’t worry about it. If you miss a day of your 5-10 minutes, feel no pressure!
We’re all about grace, baby.
I would love to see a collected group of women from this awesome blog community stand together and say that we are going to make the study of God’s Word priority.
We want to read each other’s blogs and comment. We want to write how our day went and read the comments left on our own blogs. We want to send link love to our friends and Twitter about the importance of a Mocha Latte.
But what we want most is “to know Christ and the power of His resurrection.”
We are calling this “The Kettle Club” with the hope we will get into the Word in the morning before our day kicks into full gear. However, that is NOT a mandatory thing! Some women study better after they’ve been functioning for a few hours, others work night shifts and are sleeping in the morning. Still others have little children who are running to the bus early in the a.m.
Whatever time you decide to spend in the Word works for us.
I am praying it will be before blogging though!
If you are interested in the meme, leave a comment and let us know. Details will be going out about it in February’s magazine release as well as on our Facebook group.
Which, coincidentally, is going to be the best source of Exemplify Online information out there. Christy, our Facebook group administrator, has some amazing things planned to keep you in the loop.
To further keep you updated you can follow us on Twitter.
See you back here in a month. Bring your bible and a cup of coffee (boring, blah, decaf tea for me!) as we read what our fellow blog friends are learning.
Oh, yes, and feel free to grab The Kettle Club button & let your blog friends know what we are planning.
I cannot wait!
Happy Thursday,
Kristen

Ooooh – love it. I’m ABSOLUTELY in!
I’m in too! This Kettle Club post is most timely as I’ve just posted about a blog break for a few days as I’m struggling with keeping up with reading the Word in amongst all my other commitments, ie Jasmine, work, house, and so on. Time to head off and grab the button, then get into the Word before sleep hits!
Yes!!! I’m so in. And I’m going to be praying for us Kettle-Club-keepers.
Count me in as well! I’ll be praying for all the ladies in the Kettle Club
You know I’m in! I love this idea, and I love the emphasis of making time with God a priority before blogging. It’s totally worth it!!
What a great way to honor God in all we do. This principal is something that I’ve put into place recently, and God has blessed me with awesome truths in His Word. Can’t wait to share!
This is a beautiful thing.. I’m in!

Funny how God speaks to us isn’t it? I was just chastising myself on how much of my AM devotion time goes to blog world. This is a great idea for accountability.
I am IN. Oh, I am so IN!
What a great idea! I’d love to be a part of this!
I love this idea….count me in.

I just stumbled across your blog and I think this is just what I need at this season in my life!! Count me in!
I love the idea!! COUNT ME IN!! ^^
There’s no doubt the computer is a huge lure and once I get started, the best laid plans for quiet time easily get tossed by the wayside as i get caught up writing, etc.Recently I decided I wouldn’t allow myself to turn on the computer until I spent time in the Word. For the most part I’ve been pretty good, but still slip into my old ways.I love the idea of the Kettle Club as a way to help me make devotions a priority and keep me accountble.
I want to be part of this.
Thank you sooooo much! I am so glad to have found this….I’ve been frustrated with trying to keep up in the bloggy world!Bless you!Susan
I’m excited about this!
Count me in! I know that when I spend more time in the Word and prayer, my blog posts seem to flow easily. He provides me with inspiration.
Just discovered your blog…I’m in starting tomorrow!!!
This is totally what I need. I am a new mom and have been needing to get back into a quiet time routine. I am going to try to start in the morning.
I just found this and I am so excited!
Thanks, Kirsten! I’ll be adding this button to my blog and participating monthly starting NOW!!
Thank you. I do indeed need this accountability. I am loving blogging about my walk with the LORD yet often leave being in the Word behind. How can I truly come to know God if I am not in His Word?
Love this idea! I can certainly use the encouragement and accountability. Count me in!
I am just now finding this since I just joined Exemplify. I would love to participate when I can. I think this is wonderful! Praise God!
Blessings,
Jen
I was excited before, but after reading further, I cannot wait to get started!
I am so excited to see how God will work through us!
