Kettle Club: April Meeting

Welcome to April’s Kettle Club discussion! We invite all of our Kettle Club members to link up today.  All are welcome to join. Simply leave us a comment telling us you are committing to spend 5-10 minutes (or more if you feel so led) in the Word  each day before blogging and you are officially a member!

If you are new to The Kettle Club we invite you to get caught up by reading our kick-off post.

Up for recommended (not required!) chat this month:

  • Open up the book you’ve been using during your devotional time to a random page. Share with us the first few sentences from that page with the title of the book. Perhaps this will spark some interest in fellow Kettle Club members to use that book in their own devotional time!
  • Let’s get fun. Write a limerick on how your month in the Word went.
  • What one word would you use to describe your quiet time before the Lord this month? Why did you choose this word? What does it mean personally for you to see this specific word in action in your life?
  • Share with your fellow Kettle Club members the effect you’ve seen your moments spent in the Word having on your every day life.
  • Write a short (or long if you feel so led!) devotional drawing from what you’ve learned this month.
  • Tell us the focus of your April prayer time and how we can join you in that prayer.
  • Get creative! Share your own question and answer with us!

Go on! Link up and share with us how your April devotional time was. We look forward to hopping on over to your blog and encouraging you while being encouraged ourselves!

I joined about a month ago, committing to read God’s Word before blogging. I am changing habits so the progress is gradual but happening! I am just, today, learning how the ‘end-of-the-month’ part of The Kettle Club works so missed 4/29. The one that stands up strong for me today is the focal point of my prayer time these past two weeks. You can go to my blog and read about little Abby… our 5 1/2 month old great niece. Blessed be the Name of the LORD for He is at work in this precious little one and her parents. Thank you each and all for your prayers.
The one word that describes my quiet time with my LORD of late is ‘loving’. I feel wrapped in His love. I am bathed in the sweetness of His breath. I am covered by His Word and caressed by His strong arms. I am loved in the quiet, even when I am not quiet myself. And the blessing for me is that I am able to love Him back. LOVING… interesting word for my quiet time with the LORD.
I will ponder the other questions above and may post more on my blog.

This is a wonderful idea for a “club” – I love it! I do commit to spending time in the word BEFORE blogging. So many times I have started writing and half way into it I have to stop and run for my Bible to find the verse I need to get my point across. How much more could God bless my words if I was in his word before I started to type?! I’m excited about joining the Kettle Club!

I am so glad to have found this site, and joined your Kettle Club! What a great idea! This morning I read the Mary/Martha story – I should read it every day. ;) The one part of Luke 10:41 that stood out for me today was … “…chosen what is better.” I am making a commitment to “choose what is better” more often in my life. And the first step is putting God where he belongs – in FIRST place. You can read my blog from today for more…. Thanks for this wonderful site!

    How do I join?

  6. Barbara says:

This is a great way to promote the holy word of God, I do commit to read every day before blogging, I already post a devotional on my message board daily, and make sure it is is in place before blogging too. God bless you and all who commit to do this wilful act for our lord Jesus Christ, may we all grow in his grace.

I love your site, and am so glad I found the Kettle Club. What I am hearing this month are John the Baptist’s words about Jesus, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:29-31) Above all else, I want to glorify God with my life in all I think, do, and say, and to speak and write His words of life to encourage and minister to others. And there is just nothing like spending time with Him – love it! :)
