Confession

I have a confession.

I haven’t felt much like writing lately. I’m in the middle of a horrible few months, honestly, and I often process things by embracing quiet. Plus I’ve been on a work vacation that was much needed!

Ever have one of those years that you wish would just fly away already? That would be how I feel about 2010.

I hope you will stick with me! I know I just returned and I haven’t been a good blogging friend. ;)

I have some plans in the works for this place as we head into the next season.

Hopefully you’ll love them and want hang out at my virtual home!

Until then, feel free to browse the archives, stop by on Mondays for some musing and check me out at the Internet Cafe.

With love,

Kristen

I think quiet can be good. Especially when things are hard and writing just seems to stop flowing. I know I have been there lately. It is frustrating….yet peaceful. An odd place to be. The words will come. For now just enjoy the quiet.

  2. Deborah says:

I’m sorry this year has been so hard on you. You are in my prayers. Quiet is good. God tells us to be still….reflect in your heart and be still…Ps 4:4.

I’ve so been there, when the words just won’t come, and anything I try to do to make them just feels forced and fake or trite and cheap. So, quiet can be very good. And believe you me, those Monday Musings give me plenty to think about throughout the week thankyouverymuch.

You’re missed when you’re not here, but I’ll manage. Surely you can be found somewhere if I look hard enough, and you hide really well, then I’ll just sit in a corner and eat a delicious cupcake and rock back and forth for awhile. It’ll be good. Like therapy. :0)

God is doing a new thing at Exemplify, and in you, and in me, and in a lot of other people. It’s going to be good.

And God, while you’re doing a new thing, could you plan an unbelievably awesome 2011 for Kristen? And me? Thanks!

    I ditto Kara!
You’ve said that you miss me..I miss you too my friend!
You know where you’re going. You just may get there on a different time table than you first anticipated.?.

    Many blessings and much love,
    Kela

Kristen…I too crave quiet when the dry spell comes…and it does come from time to time for everyone. At times, I feel I know how Joseph must have felt when his brothers put him in the well. I’m sure he was lonely, scared, cried, and couldn’t understand why he was in the pit. But you know…God didn’t put him in the cistern to harm or hurt him…he needed Joseph to sit quiet and let God fill him with his healing rain. In this way, he prepared Joseph for bigger and better things…to be King! So sit in the quiet and let God fill your heart and soul so you might be prepared for what God has planned!

    Love and Peace,
    Shannon

      Shannon,

Thank you so much for popping in today! I was just at your blog – what a lovely place you have.

This comment was such an encouragement to me this morning. <3

  6. Tara says:

GIRL. I get it. I have not been up to writing these last couple of months either.

Perhaps this is a season of silence for many of us?

In that case, Lord, what are You whispering that, without the silence, we might have missed?

  7. Karen says:

Quiet is how I recharge. If it’s been an especially rough day, I long for the night time when everyone else is in bed and I can prop my feet up, sip on a cup of coffee, and just enjoy the quiet.

I hope that things will settle down for you soon. This is an awesome ministry here at Exemplify. And even though good changes are on the horizon, change itself can be difficult. So be encouraged that God will be right here with you and this ministry as you seek to make the changes you feel God is leading you to make. A verse that always encourages me, especially in times when things seem overwhelming or tough is I Thessalonians 5:24 which says, “Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.” (NASB)

    Take care!
    Karen

    Kristen,
God has gifted you with a beautiful heart, a passion for ministry and an amazing talent at writing. While you may be eager to look at 2010 through your rearview mirror, I can see all the lives you’ve touched this year.

I pray that through the rest and the quiet, the Spirit fills you and energizes you with a new sense of purpose.

    Blessings,
    Kelli
