When I tell you I am excited to introduce you to Karen Hammons that may just be the understatement of the year. I am EXCITED.
When the Do.Be.Love. series was first taking shape in my own time before the Lord, Karen was the woman that kept coming to mind. Over and over again. She is someone who speaks grace daily but more than that she lives it. I respect her so much.
She is speaking with us today about her ministry The Offenders Wife and how it began. Listen to her story, embrace her Jesus of Grace, and encourage the women in your life. Heaven knows, your encouragement may just be a lifeline for them today.
I would love for you to connect with Karen online. You can find her at The Offenders Wife, on Twitter, on her personal blog (one of my favorites!), on Pinterest, or on Tumblr. She basically makes the internet cooler. You want to follow her. I promise.
A little note about this interview: for some odd reason once I uploaded this, a mysterious echo appeared on the first few minutes & then again about half way through for a few minutes. Doesn’t get in the way of the conversation too much, but it is a little annoying. It goes away but I apologize. It seems tech issues are the theme of the month around here!
Also, I have a cap on my upload time per month and I came in under by 3 seconds! Literally. So, there is no intro this week & the ending gets cut off a tad abruptly. Rude little uploader.

So glad to be able to hear this. Karen, you’re tremendous and I am proud to call you my friend.
I love this message of grace. It’s incredibly difficult to walk through situations where the damage done is so intimate and to keep your heart open, loving like Jesus would, but with wisdom. I love that you talk about the church’s response to the great big shiny sins (sex, drugs and rocknroll) and personalize it—what if it were me who was the offender?
Thanks again for showing the joy that comes with being the bearer of grace.
Karen you are one of the most grace and love filled people of the second chance I know. You exude those qualities and challenge others. It’s such a beautiful thing. What you are doing is brave and takes courage and I hope you remember that on the hard days. The hands and feet of Christ in such a powerful way.
This. So much of this touched my heart. And made me scream (okay…imaginary scream since I don’t have a voice…stupid cold) YES. Let’s do more. Let’s BE more. Let’s be LOVE. Let’s shower grace everywhere and in every way possible.
I will be praying for these women. In fact I just wrote it on my board so I will see it many times each day and pray.
It’s amazing what God can do, even in the aftermath of sexual sin. It’s not easy, but it is worth it to seek restoration if possible. The world doesn’t see that God can restore even the most broken things. Thanks for sharing this interview. Angie
Such a beautiful testimony! I am so glad I had the opportunity to hear your story. Thank you so much for sharing with us and pouring out an abundance of His grace.
