Andrea, same here – it is SO hard for us to accept that God loves us as He created us, not as the world/media say we should be. This is something that I struggle with daily, as well.

I’m getting better at it, but I struggle with surrendering my weight and appearance. I know I am not defined by how I look, but it’s still a constant battle.

I was not until the last few years. I can truly say that I am happy now. The switch happened when I realized that I had no idea what would make me happy. I am so grateful that I finally am able to experience this.

I struggle with “happiness” in general. Because of this, I tend to try and create it myself when I know I need to live for HIM in order to receive the joy of the Lord. Much easier said than done but I keep telling myself this in hopes that saying it will help me get there! Thanks for the post and the rest of the poem!

Thanks for posting this, Melinda. I’m so glad to know that there is a “rest of the prayer.”

Reasonably happy; I’ll take that. I think we can get too caught up in the entire concept of happiness without accepting that peace with God doesn’t resemble the world’s version of happiness. I can live chaos and still find true peace that exceeds reasonable, worldly standards.

I will be prayerful today regarding that area in my life that needs surrendering. I imagine there are many.

I truly needed this lesson but I truly need help to let go of a situation I cannot change
