This was very helpful for me as I'm about to begin a new project. I have so many ideas and sometimes it gets overwhelming. I so desire to be right smack in the center of God's will for my life.

I am praying and laying down my plans before Him. I only want to do what He has planned for me.

Thanks Kristen for this timely post.

Blessings,
Debbie

I am learning so much about this right now. And waiting...it can be hard :)

I know it is going to be so WORTH it. It always is when He is involved!

I never thought about loving ideas....but it's true. I do. There is so much fabulousness about them!

Is it next week yet? ;-)

I'm an idea person, too, and waiting on God for the go-ahead is SO crucial. It's far more than, and even different from look-before-you-leap. Much deeper, among other things.

This is good stuff, Special K!! Honestly cannot wait until next week. :-)

What a timely confirmation, as I read through Neh. and travel along side with Joel. Thank you for sharing this word and exhortation.

My very first manuscript was a Bible study on the book of Nehemiah. Still collecting dust on a shelf, but I think that I just might pull it down this fall and give it a re-look. One of the things I love about the scripture you quoted here is Nehemiah's request to God...

“make Your servant successful today and grant him compassion before this man.”

What started out as a king-sized request (a request that might have cost him his life had the king not been favorable to his cupbearer), became a man-sized request. From king to man... all of our "good ideas", God-ordained ideas regarding leadership suddenly become manageable when placed before the Father's throne initially. Not sure if that makes sense... does to me, but anyway, I love this post because my heart is prone to Nehemiah and to how his leadership might help me be a more effective leader for the kingdom!

Looking forward to next week...

peace~elaine

PS: Another thought... I also look to Moses' approach to the "burning bush" as I begin to think about what God might be calling me to next. If there is a reoccurring flame in my life that doesn't diminish to ashes, I'll usually draw a little closer to take a deeper look.
