I love Scriptures. And quotes. And little bits of inspiration. I have notebooks filled with my favorites! Because I’m a verbal inspiration pack-rat, I’ve decided every Monday morning (for the most part!) I’m going to share one of my current favorites with a question to ponder.
I’d love to hear what your thoughts are, on the thinking prompt or on the question I pose, in the comments. I also don’t mind if you don’t say anything at all. Sometimes silence is the best way we can muse over something. I’d love for each of us to go about our day thinking about our Monday Morning Musing. Let’s have fun!

If we get our information from the biblical material there is no doubt that the Christian life is a dancing, leaping, daring life.

When I read this quote (from the man behind The Message Bible) I have to ask myself, “When is the last time my precious faith caused me to dance, to leap, to live daringly?”
Now, that is something to think about.

After talking with some of my favorite Lovelies last night I find this quote fascinating. I think if we really look at the Word and see the people and the events as living breathing…LIFE it changes something for us. I know sometimes I get caught up in reading the Word as a book that I forget….what happened was real. These people are our ancestors and what a life they lead. God really is showing me my story is more than what I think it is.
So I concur with Mr. Peterson… and I am going to think more about my faith and life…and the fact that it should include a lot more dancing. leaping. and daring. What a challenge.
“…a leaping, dancing, daring life.” Wow. That sounds soooooo good! =]
Thanks! =]
I like to think of David as he danced before the Ark as it was brought home. I want to be him, abandoned in worship instead of Michal, looking in judgment because he didn’t worship like her. I’m willing to “embarrass” myself for God and have fun in His Glory.
Kristen…I just figured out how to find all your updates on the mini-card. That is so neat! I’ve thought about switching to WordPress.org…but haven’t made that leap yet. I like the free stuff, you know!
Yes isn’t that what it’s all about…a leaping, dancing, daring life. Let us all, I pray, reach for this and believe it is certainly attainable and God’s desire for us.
And sometimes in learning the dance, we do stumble–oh Love that will not let me go!
I remember when this very thought first hit me. I was contemplating what my life had been like before Jesus, and what it would have looked like if I hadn’t fallen into His arms. Somehow a life filled with drinking, partying, and meaningless one night stands seemed not only ridiculous, but boring. I may not be an overly adventurous kind of girl, but I love to laugh and experience every single thing this life has to offer. I did things those first few years after giving my heart to Jesus that I would never have even contemplated previously. Now that my kids are getting old enough to appreciate these things, I can’t wait for all of us to leap in dancing!
God’s Word has been a hard reach for me as of late, actually God as well. Please understand, I know that he is here, that he is with me and that his love for me is securely anchored around my soul… but God has been a hard “find” for me. That being said, now that we are settling in to our new lives (not sure how that happens), my soul is less restless and just this morning, I found a little nugget in Scripture that made my heart leap. In Paul’s 2nd letter to the Thessalonians he writes
“I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand, which is the distinguishing mark in all my letters. This is how I write.” (3:17).
And it has me thinking… about my “distinguishing mark”–that which sets me apart. Oh how I pray to have such a mark on me, even when my faith wobbles through the motions in search of solid ground.
For what it’s worth.

Leaping, dancing, shouting out His praises. I am ignited with love for His truth, His way, His life!
I will not keep silent. I will tell of His great love.
My prayer is to be aligned with Him, used for His purposes in His ministry of reconciliation, whatever that looks like.
