Let The Meeting Begin! :: Kettle Club February Wrap Up

Welcome to our first Kettle Club discussion!

To catch up on the details behind our meeting you can read this.

Today we welcome you to link up using our Mr. Linky, inviting others to come read what you are learning in your time spent in the Word and with the Lord!

This month we are discussing the following
(remember you do not have to answer every question!):

• Did you focus on a specific portion of Scripture this month (for example, the Psalms)? If so, share why you chose to focus on that specific portion.

• If not, share a few key verses or areas you felt lead to read this month.

• Are you following along with a specific devotional? If so, tell us a little about the devotional. Do you recommend it for your fellow Kettle Club ladies?

• What is a stand out lesson you learned this month? What has the Lord been steadily teaching you?

• Did you find certain distractions kept popping up as you would sit down to meditate on God’s Word? How did you overcome them?

• Do you find that when you place your time spent with the Lord before blogging life somehow seems…simpler? Or feels more balanced?

• What are some prayer time/Word focused goals you had for the month of February? What are your goals for the month of March? (For example, are you memorizing Scripture or committing to pray about a specific thing?)

• How can you fellow Kettle Club members pray for you this month? Anything else you would like to share?

Because we are a blog team with a group of writers, each of our weekly writers will be blogging at their own blogs today discussing the above! So, be sure to check out the links below if you are interested in learning what our writers are focusing on and learning in their time with the Lord.

I cannot wait to hop over to your blog and read how your month was spent!

P.S. Have you downloaded the Exemplify Magazine’s March Issue yet?

Blessings to all of you! I pray that as you begin this new venture to prioritize God's Word before the blog, it becomes the impetus for great spiritual growth for each person committed to this endeavor!Since I'm not "blogging this month"actually 40 days…I cannot link up. I am new to this site but very encouraged on all I am able to read! So I will answer here:My focus this month is Isaiah 40-53, Praying for Others, and the ABS readings for this month, so far mostly in ACTS! The reason for my focus on Isaiah is my church's daily meditation, Time With God is following this study. My Bible Reading Plan chooses a theme each month, which is Called to be Free to Pray for Others and I joined a team of other bloggers in forming a PRAYER blog; the Lighthouse of Prayer. Also, I started the Bible Study with Tracy@Thirsty for Him this week on a "Makeover of the Heart". It's time for God to make my heart more like HIS!I cannot recommend this devotional meditation because it's in Spanish. And my book on PRAYER is by Stormie Omartian,in Spanish also but I'm sure it's available in English. She has many and any would do to focus on Praying! She has a great new one on "Praying through the Bible"!I do recommend highly for anyone who has read through the Bible on other plans to join American Bible Society or Daily Manna with IBS to receive a portion of God's Word each day. Also I love Today's Verse with Phil Ware from Heartlight for a quick devotional and focus for the day! All 3 are in my bookmark bar along with Praying for the President daily prayer.Though I'm not blogging, I will continue in my Memory Verses for each week. My prayer focus last month was a special evangelization event here during Carnaval(like Mardi Gras) and salvation seems to be my continual priority this month. As I look at the many questions that are left, I can see it isn't possible to comment on them all.(I guess that's the reason many blog!) I'm hoping to GROW this month with my prayer life & be so much closer to Jesus(you'd have to read my last post to fully understand all this). My distractions have been my dog's constant barking and inadequate sleep & thus poor health. I now go out on the patio with the dogs and read the Word in a hammock. I put my boombox with worship music on near the window and they pretty much have adjusted to be quieter with me there. God first…certainly balances & focuses my life better!!! Always has, always will…when I don't take the time first or allow distractions, I seemingly am much more moody and out of sync for the day!I need PRAYER for protection especially in the evenings and early hours where I'm living and pray that God opens a door that I choose wisely for a safer haven &being where He wants me. The more that pray with me, the better thestrength…if one of us can put a 1,000 to death, then 2 of us can send the legions fleeing. God is great and this community of EXEMPLIFY seems to me built upon His principles & truths first. He is the ROCK! Looking forward to reading more & returning after Easter as God permits! Vaya con Dios! (GO WITH GOD!)
