What moves in your heart today?

Monday Morning Musing: Movements of Heart

We are musing because it is Monday. Even if we’re all relaxing today!

The Quote:

“Who can map out the various forces at play in one soul? Man is a great depth, O Lord. The hairs of his head are easier by far to count than his feeling, the movements of his heart.”
-Saint Augustine

The Question:

What is one thing that moves in your heart today?

Comments

  1. Christy says:

Quiet. The good and not so good kind.

Writing. What is fluttering through my heart and mind.

I like this quote and question. I think I am going to save it on a sticky note to see from time to ponder what is moving in my heart.

  2. Joanne Sher says:

Change is the big one for me right now- this week is full of it – big and small.

And, unfortunately, impatience. Waiting is not my strong suit. At all.

  3. Wendy says:

Trust, trust, trust in my Savior. Don’t be swayed.
    ~ Wendy

  4. Shannon says:

    Love and thankfulness!

  5. Gratefulness for family, friends, and faith that keep me grounded.

  6. kara says:

    Grace.

The giving and receiving of it, the living and partaking in it. The people who best exemplify it, the people who most need it, and how I want to be better at living in it and extending it to others.

  7. Andrea says:

Joy! Joy of planning, of looking ahead with anticipation. Even in the uncertainties of other things in our life, I have joy knowing God is in complete control and will carry us through it.

  8. Victoria says:

Integrity. Living it out, encountering it with appreciation and grace…still trying to wrap my brain around the concept as it rolls around in my heart today.

  9. Rachel says:

What moves my heart today is my niece and nephews and the innocence and trust that they display so easily

  10. Shannon G says:

Just how GOD still whispers to my heart!
I’ve an Elijah kind of revelation today. (1 Kings 19:11-13)
God doesn’t always sweep over us like a MIGHTY WIND. He doesn’t always SHAKE US LIKE AN EARTHQUAKE. He doesn’t always CONSUME US AS W/ FIRE.
But sometimes, HE WHISPERS in that STILL SMALL VOICE! and asks us “WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?”

I’m taken aback today as I dwell on that truth. That He is in love w/ ME. That He cares enough to WHISPER and ask me “WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?”

  11. Well, since I just re-read Blue Like Jazz this afternoon, what’s really speaking to my heart right now is confession. Confession to others that I DON’T have it all together. To be real and authentic, to confess where I have failed to walk as Christ walked, and that it’s by His grace alone I can even get back up.
